12th Graders Thomas and Sahirah as "Marius" and "Cosette"

Senior, and veteran Bronx Prep musical theater star, Sahirah plays the role of "Cosette." When asked about the vibe at rehearsal, she says, "No one ever half-steps. Everyone is so full of desire to make it great. People are going all out during practice. The energy is just fantastic."

Marius (Thomas) falls at Cosette's feet
"Vocally [the role] is not a problem because I’m used to that kind of range of voice," Sahirah says, "but capturing Cosette’s softness and grace has been somewhat difficult. I have to make Cossette me but at the same time be true to her character. I get a lot of support from the cast. My teammates have been patient. They've waited for me to get it right."

Cosette and Marius embrace as Eponine (Dianeiris) looks on longingly
